Dr. Charles Foy obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.  He then received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Louisiana State University Medical Center in 1984.  Consistent with his commitment to lifetime continuing education, Dr. Foy achieved a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry by surpassing 500 hours of continuing education and passing a national exam.  He then achieved the level of Mastership that required an additional 600 hours of approved continuing education.  Further, the types of courses required for Mastership were more difficult, hands-on applications of skill.  In the United States, fewer than 2% of general dentists have attained this level.

Dr. Foy has completed the curriculums at both the prestigious Pankey Institute and the Foundation for Advanced Continuing Education (FACE).   His studies there involved complex restorative needs of the dentally compromised mouth.  He is also a graduate of The Center for Professional Development, the nation’s only business school for dentists.

Other dental achievements include:

Past-President of the Louisiana Dental Association

Past-President of the Louisiana Academy of General Dentistry

Past-President of the Northlake Dental Association

Delegate for the American Dental Association (ADA) meeting

Delegate for the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) meeting

Co-chair of the Mastertrak curriculum for the Louisiana AGD

Dr. Foy is also highly committed to service in the community...and beyond.  In fact, he has been recognized by the AGD with the Mark Locantro and the Lifetime Learning and Service Recognition (LLSR) and LDA’s Distinguished Dentist Award  for an extraordinarily high level of service to dentistry and the community.  He has participated in numerous volunteer organizations and donated dental services through the Knights of Columbus, Special Olympics, Rotary, Kiwanis, Boys Scouts, and Helping Hands Medical Missions.  He also has a Fellowship in Forensic Odontology from the University of Texas and gives his time to the local coroners’ office and has even presented a lecture to the FBI in the New Orleans office.

On the personal side, Charlie is happily married to Anne.  They have three daughters; Elizabeth, Catherine, and Sarah.  His hobbies include restoring old automobiles, snow skiing (ha,ha, ask him more), cycling and following the girls activities.
